I’m Kisha. I help women decrease depression, anxiety, and Imposter Syndrome in their day through weekly virtual therapy sessions.

I started optimisticcounseling.com because Black Women deserve a safe space for their mental health, without having to explain their culture first, with a mental health clinician who looks like them. I choose to serve this community because it’s my community.

Millennials have a unique experience in today’s world. Between studendt loans, kids, dating, and working, it can feel like you’re drowning. Some of us have to live with our parents, in order to save for a house, at the same gage thwy were already married and raising a whole family!

What’s Imposter Syndrome?
I’m glad you asked! It’s the persistent inability to believe that your success is deserved or been legitimately achieved as a result of your own efforts or skills.
It’s never feeling good enough despite how good you KNOW you are. Or in some cases, how good people keep telling you, you are. A lot of that can be internal.
But if you’re a woman of color, a lot of that is also systemic and institutional racism specifically designed to keep you out. So it’s not all on you, if you don’t feel like you “belong” in certain spaces. 
Yes, I’m here to help you get your power back. But my role as your therapist isn’t to tell you what you should do. I’m here to empower you with clinically proven strategies that enable you to reach realizations on your own, that best align with your desired outcomes.
After all, nobody knows you better than you. Ultimately, it’s about trusting yourself to make decisions that will best serve your goals.
