I’m Kisha! Founder and Online Therapist of

the Optimistic Counseling Practice

Kisha has always loved helping people. But only 4% of mental health therapists are Black. Even less are Black Women. These statistics inspired Kisha to become a licensed psychotherapist in 2010.

And in 2019, Kisha founded optimsticcounseling.com. A Texas based virtual therapy practice specializing in alleviating clinical depression and anxiety that debilitates the professional and personal functioning of Black Women.

Kisha chooses to serve this community, because it’s her community. She believes that Black Women deserve a safe space for their mental health, without having to explain their culture first, with a medical professional who looks like them.

Kisha helps clients decrease depression and anxiety that stem from Imposter Syndrome, such as self-doubt or low self-esteem, that make them second-guess if they’re doing enough, despite being overachievers.
